Where’d You Go?

Posted on: December 7th, 2016 | by Bill Kenney

We’ve been getting this question a lot. Thank you for the kind notes and cards. Many of you have written over the last several weeks to ask if we’re “okay” and what happened to our regular webinars and e-newsletter.

The truth is, we couldn’t be better. We’ve been on the road a ton meeting with customers, at many major and community events and we’ve been looking forward to how our solutions can become even better in 2017.

The webinar schedule will resume on December 19 with Stop Defining Insanity: Set Them Up for Success. The next several webinars will highlight some of our observations and learning from the fall road trips. Where’d we go, you ask? Events included:

Here are recordings of the workshops I was involved in a Startup Istanbul.

A Conversation with Greg Coticchia from the U Pitt Blast Furnace Accelerator

Posted on: July 29th, 2016 | by tmpadmin

We recently had a chance to visit with Greg Coticchia, Director of the University of Pittsburgh’s startup accelerator, the Blast Furnace. In this wide-ranging discussion, we learned about Greg, the Blast Furnace and the “Pitt” Innovation Institute. We also learned about some of the big objectives on the horizon for the Blast Furnace. Greg also shared with us what caused them to adopt Score My Pitch and how it has impacted their program.

Please have a listen. Greg is doing some great work and making quite an impact on student and university success.

Score My Pitch is a pitch event judging and feedback system. Harness the wisdom and potential energy in your community. Produce reliable results. Share contextual and actionable feedback. Watch the video. Ask us how we can help you engage and empower your community. Email or call Bill Kenney today at or +1 (860) 573-4821.

TMP Code of Conduct

Posted on: May 28th, 2013 | by tmpadmin

While we are very resistant to have a lot of rules on the Test My Pitch Platform, we think that you will find these basic guidelines helpful:

  • Pitchers appreciate feedback – Sometimes it is not easy to hear critical feedback. Your ability to pitch will improve as your ability to openly listen to feedback improves. Assume that the person offering you their thoughts is doing so with the best of intent.

  • Reviewers are candid – No one is served if you are not candid as a reviewer. A pitcher would rather hear your thoughtful feedback now than perform poorly when it really counts. If you’re concerned about how to frame your feedback, consider giving feedback in the form of a question, e.g., “Have you though about standing up when you pitch?” or “Is there a reason why you don’t talk about who your target customer?”

  • Feedback on Feedback – You will have the opportunity to mark the feedback you receive as “helpful” and “not helpful”. We want to know what comments are really helping you evolve your ability to pitch.

A few years ago a friend of ours started a networking group of professionals. At your initiation you were made to hold a statue of a donkey’s rear-end and repeat 7-simple words, “I promise not to be an ass.” These seem like good words for us to live by too!
